WE ARE RETURNING TO NORMAL.
As people across New South Wales begin to live with COVID-19, this practice will be getting back to where we used to be. For starters, we have already reverted to face-to-face (or mask-to-mask) consultations. And we have closed down our COVID clinic. We're proud to say that since we set it up back in March, we have given you and other patients more than 8,000 AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs. No small feat for a neighbourhood practice of our size.
Boosters are next.
We will begin administering Pfizer booster shots weekly on Thursdays starting 20 January. From now on, you can book an appointment for a time six months after your second shot by using the HotDoc app. As before with COVID-19 appointments, please do not call reception; they won't be able to help you.
Supplemental doses for people with immunosuppression, organ transplants or malignancy are also available. (Note: these are not booster shots.)
What normal means for the time being.
There is still a hand sanitiser at the front door. Spaced plastic chairs in the waiting area. And the need to wear a mask indoors. As before, we will not see you if you have a respiratory infection, and that includes the common cold. If you do have symptoms, you should self-isolate and get a COVID-19 swab test. If you want, you can call us for a teleheath consultation or simply use the NSW Government's COVID-19 testing clinics search facility to find the nearest testing sites.
Thankfully, nothing's changed about the way our services reflect local family lifestyles.
We put extra emphasis on skin and mole exams as well as periodic health checks for men, women and children. Specific services include tests for cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Breast screens and Pap smears. Cardiovascular risk assessments. Weight loss and quit smoking advice. Prostate screens. Baby immunisations and four-year-old Healthy Kids Checks.
We are also equipped to carry out electrocardiogram (ECG) and lung function tests. We stay up to date with the latest developments in travel medicine. And we even offer anti-wrinkle treatments.
We continue to be fully accredited.
Narrabeen Family Medical enjoys full accreditation with Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited, the leading provider of accreditation to general practices in this country.
By the way, if you still want to know more about coronavirus, we will be retaining our COVID-19 page for a while yet.
